My history
Alvin MunyasiaAlvin is currently the Head of Programmes at Emerging Leaders Foundation, where his core responsibilities include programme management and development; and coordinating research efforts in four county governments in Kenya aimed at producing a barometer report on active youth participation. He provides strategic leadership in implementing projects on youth economic empowerment, developing strategies and methodologies for capacity building; generating evidence and spearheading the design of mentorship and leadership development; managing strategic partnerships; leading fundraising initiatives and providing technical guidance to the organization’s programming.

Alvin is a Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) alumni, an Amani Institute Post Graduate Fellow on Social Innovation, and a development specialist with eight years’ experience in projects’ management and strategic advocacy including collaborative work with alliances from grassroots, national, regional levels linking them to global spaces and conversations.

Alvin has been passionate about development projects working on programmes since 2006, with a focus on community development, human rights abuses, poverty, and the impacts of poor governance at the community level that has seen him link the issues to National and Continental levels. In the same vein he has gained experience working with partners in twenty-four countries across Africa; partnering with African NGOs and networks. He has gained tremendous experience while working with Oxfam International in strengthening Civil Society organizations and advocacy Consortiums to enable them engage, voice and claim for their rights offering African homegrown solutions to the challenges they face; primarily to ensure especially the most marginalized are able to leave their mark on the political agenda.
